Description
Usually large, irregularly oval, with broadly rounded anterior, posteriorly convergent dorsal and ventral margins and narrowly rounded posterior margin, dorsal margin almost straight or faintly convex, ventral margin straight to faintly concave; surface smooth, moderately convex, greatest convexity posteroventral from center; RV slightly overlapping LV. Zone of concrescence narrow, Iine of concrescence coinciding with inner margin; vestibule and eye spots lacking; RV hinge with thin, knifelike bar that fits below dorsal margin of LV. [Fresh-water.)
