Description

Carapace without external sculpture, smooth, elongate bythocypridid in side view, with point of greatest height in posterior half, terminal borders rounded, ventral border nearly straight; adductor muscle scars and contact marginal structures unknown, but many Paleozoic species assigned to BytllOcypris are similar to Cytherellina. [Type specimens figured by JONES and JONES & HOLL consist partly of internal molds with clinging shell material that show 2 elongate, nearly vertical, shallow depressions without external expression, one located centrally and the other anteriorly.]
