Description

Carapace large, heavy-shelled, mostly subtriangular in lateral view, with considerable dorsal convexity and nearly straight ventral border, lacking the great tumidity of Pachydomella; LV conspicuously overreaching RV, contact marginal structures as described for family; adductor muscle scar with 70 or more spots, commonly with posteroventral furrow on RV. Surface smooth or punctate.
